New England Patriots Sony Michel Delivers Big against the Chargers

in NFL

Rookie RB Sony Michel came up big for the New England Patriots as he delivered in a 41-28 win against the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC divisional-round playoff game.

Sony Michel rushed for 125 yards and three rushing touchdowns a performance that only three people have accomplished in the last 20 years.

He has now helped the Patriots secure a AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Sony was on and off in the entire year as the Patriots have circled through a number of running backs to keep them healthy but during the biggest game of the year thus far he has delivered.

Tom Brady has this to say to Sony — “I really love Sony as a person and his commitment to the team. He’s just been a lot of fun to be out there with, made a lot of hard yards. It’s great to see.”

Sony Michel is 31st overall pick became the only player in the last 25 postseasons scoring 100 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in the first half of a playoff game. The only other player to score 100 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns was Saints Alvin Kamara although that was not in the playoffs.

Kryrie Irving Fuming as Celtics ‘Lacking’ Experience on a 105–103 Loss against Magic

in Basketball

The Celtics was only down by two points with 2.9 seconds left where Irving was in the backcourt and Gordon Hayward inbounded to Jayson Tatum who shot a jumper that fell off the rim. After that play Kyrie started waving his hand in anger.
Apparently Kyrie didn’t agree with the last play and instead of putting the ball in the hands of Tatum he wanted the inbounds to go to Al Horford who will eventually set up a final play to Kyrie taking the last shot.
In an interview after the game Kyrie said their struggles can be attributed to — “Experience. It’s the best thing I can say is experience, We’re lacking it, and because of that, we have a lot of learning left to do. So we have a lot of ground to make up in that aspect…

I know from the majority of the fact that we’re better than most teams in this league, It’s just going out and proving it every single night and demanding it and actually showing it. It’s not easy to be great.”

Experience needs time and even if you stack your team with veterans it still requires time and experience of playing with each other. The good news is that the Celtics are stocked with a mixture of veteran and young talents.

The Celtics have now lost two in a row and stands at 25-17 records.

Fantasy NFL T.Y. Hilton D does not require ankle surgery

in Basketball

Good news for dynasty fantasy owners, T.Y. Colt wide receiver who is suffering high and low sprain does not require surgery and would be able to get back to playing after good rest and rehab.

This process can still take months but with the Colts season over the rehabilitation can now begin in time for next season.

The star receiver has 76 regular season catches for 1,270 yards and six TDs in 14 games and would still be considered WR1 in most fantasy owners team regardless of format.

Chargers Won Big against an Elite Steelers Squad on Sunday Night Football

in NFL
Los Angeles is now on notice with a 9-3 record and Keelan Cole said in an interview they are focused on winning and talked with confidence on what they are capable of.
The team started slow but Rivers handed Keenan the ball for a 148 yard performance and a receiving touchdown.

After this monster performance win, the Chargers will once again be tested against Kansas City in two weeks that can determine the AFC playoff seeding.

This is the year that the Chargers are no longer outside of the discussion, but they certainly are ranking higher and higher and Los Angeles is in notice.

Lebron James Anticipated the Struggles with Lakers

in NBA

Lebron James Billboard The King LA

The Lakers are struggling and have now lost 3 games in a row without any win to show for. The last time Lebron James was in this situation was more than 10 years ago while he was with Cleveland Cavaliers.
It is hard to see an accomplished and champion player who is at the tail end of his career transferring to a young and losing squad. Instead of fighting for another championship he opted to travel back in time and start a long process of rebuilding a team.
Lebron is downplaying in his interview that he anticipated this scenario when he signed with the team
“It’s not tough,” James said after the loss to the Spurs. “I know what I got myself into. It’s a process. I get it. And it will be fine. … I didn’t come here thinking we were going to be blazing storms right out of the gate. It’s a process, and I understand that.”
I don’t think he expected it, he got Rondo in there and managed to build a team to his liking. But now he is having a good understanding of what it takes to play in the west, a much tougher conference that the East.

Lebron believes they will get better:

“We’re going to continue to get better,” James said. “We’re going to continue to get better. I like the direction we’re going in. Obviously, it’s not resulting in the wins right now, but it’s such a long process.”

How much better is Lakers going to be? Enough to make it to the playoffs? Or just better than the 0-3 standing.
