  1. You know, just so we're all clear, this night isn't just about the great Pistol Pete. Another person is getting honored tonight also. I'm just saying more for the NBA's sake, though.

  2. Wait? The Hawks didn't retire Pistol Petes' # til now? Wtf. Kings retired Peja's jersey a few years back and Peja did not have an impact on that team the way Pete did with the Hawks smh

  3. Pistol Pete Maravich has changed my life. From his countless highlights I have admired and his testimony in 1987. Everything about Pete makes me more eager to reach heaven to meet him in the Kingdom of God. RIP Pete and God Bless

  4. I was a NY Knicks fan when I was 7, 8, 9 years old and then something happened Pete Maravich and the Atlanta Hawks….ended up an Atlanta Hawks fan for Life…..I cannot believe his jersey wasnt retired many, many, years ago. Then #22 John Drew came along so I stayed with the Hawks for Life. Both of these guys had issue's especially Drew, but they were both childhood hero's of mine. Scott at http://www.bigjreport.com

  5. Tell me why there acting like they respected and liked Maravich when he was playing with the Atlanta Hawks even though his teammates didn't like him saying he was a showboat and a ball hog and then got traded to the Jazz that's why they took so long to retire his jersey so people forgot what they really thought of him LOL

  6. INSTINCTIVE. INTUITIVE. IMPROVISATION. SENSATIONAL. SPELL-BINDING. INCREDIBLE. THIS WAS WAY OVERDUE. HIS SOUL-SEARCHING WAS PROBABLY DUE TO BEING SO MISUNDERSTOOD & UNDER-APPRECIATED WITHIN THE GAME. #44 SHOULD BE RETIRED FROM THE ENTIRE NBA. APOLOGIES TO NEEK AND OTHERS, BUT HE WAS THE GREATEST PLAYER OF THE HAWKS AND EVERY TEAM WAS BLESSED TO HAVE SIGNED HIM. PEACE. (MIC-DROP)
