Reactions to New Orleans Saints Spanking of Buccaneers

in NFL

The Touchdowns just kept piling as the score stood 31-0 going into the 4th quarter. Brutal loss for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers even when they added another superstar Antonio Brown in the lineup.

Speechless from TampaBaeSports.

High Hopes from a Buccaneers fan in red, didn’t age well.

The Saints’ locker room is celebrating a great win!

Even Tom Brady is telling us how much they are down by.

Even Mad mad mad thinks Patrick Beverley has something to say.

In the end, respect for both QBs.

Tom Brady-Bill Belichick Win Historic 6th Title Super Bowl LIII

in NFL
The New England Patriots duo of Tom Brady and Bil Belichick has made history by winning their 6th Super Bowl title against the Los Angeles Rams. It has been 17 years since they won their first Super Bowl Championship also against the Los Angeles Rams.
This was masterful defensive game as the Patriots have kept the high octane offense of the Rams to 0 points in the first half and only 3 to finish the game.
The number two offense in the NFL didn’t know what hit them as they probably didn’t expect to score less than 15 points in the game while just finishing with 3 points.
With the Rams defense led by Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donalds quickly forced Brady into an interception early in the game and limited the Patriots on 3 points via a field goal in the first half.
Three quarters have passed and the game was tied at 3-3 with both sides clamping up on defense. This is where the Patriots have the advantage since the Los Angeles Rams is a scoring machine team averaging nearly 29 points per game and with just 3 points into the 4th quarter it is clear the Patriots game plan is working.
With New England having more experience in Super Bowl they found a way to score a touch down in the last quarter on a formation that saw wide receiver Julian Edelman, two tight-ends Gronkowski and Allen, and RB Rex Burkhead leading the charge.
Gronkowski caught 29 yards on that drive enough to go 1st and goal where goal-line touchdown specialist Sony Michel delivered the go ahead points.

The Patriots held on the lead and got an interception courtesy of Gilmore against Brandin Cooks. This is comeback victory for Tom Brady whom people believe is past his prime and didn’t have any winning seasons ahead of him.

As Tom Brady notes — “No one expected us to win that game, and that’s a lot how it used to feel, before all the success. It brings back different feelings and different emotions”.

New England Patriots Sony Michel Delivers Big against the Chargers

in NFL

Rookie RB Sony Michel came up big for the New England Patriots as he delivered in a 41-28 win against the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC divisional-round playoff game.

Sony Michel rushed for 125 yards and three rushing touchdowns a performance that only three people have accomplished in the last 20 years.

He has now helped the Patriots secure a AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Sony was on and off in the entire year as the Patriots have circled through a number of running backs to keep them healthy but during the biggest game of the year thus far he has delivered.

Tom Brady has this to say to Sony — “I really love Sony as a person and his commitment to the team. He’s just been a lot of fun to be out there with, made a lot of hard yards. It’s great to see.”

Sony Michel is 31st overall pick became the only player in the last 25 postseasons scoring 100 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in the first half of a playoff game. The only other player to score 100 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns was Saints Alvin Kamara although that was not in the playoffs.

Who Will Replace the Injured Rob Gronkowski?

The loss of Rob Gronkowski is a big hole to fill and Tom Brady calls it a ‘huge void’, but the team is where it is at and adjustments are expected.

Belichick knows his TE is not coming back this season except possibly in the Super Bowl —

Obviously, we’re all disappointed. Nobody’s worked harder than Rob and has been a better teammate and all that, so hopefully things will work out as positively as possible with him.

All the information we gave you is really all we have for now. I’m sure there will be more coming in as we go through the next few days, so we’ll just take it as it comes. It’s an unfortunate situation for him. That being said, we’re turning our attention to the Rams.

Rob Gronkowski is an integral part of the team and despite only playing five games this season he already has 3 touchdowns, rushed for 540 yards on 21.6 yards per catch.

With this void that Gronkowski is leaving who are the players we expect Tom Brady to trust more?

Martellus Bennett – without doubt Martellus will be targetted more throughout the rest of the season as being the primary TE on the team. He will now move from being TE2 to TE1. He had 4 touchdowns this season and while he is only averaging 12.9 yards per catch, Tom Brady will have to look for him more.

Julian Edelman – Martellus is not Gronkowski and a few misses here and there could have Tom redirect more to Julian Edelman. He is still the primary WR and while he has just averaged 9.6 points per catch, Tom Brady is going to target him more.

Malcolm Mitchell – Tom Brady found this guy starting Week 11 & Week 12 as he has had more catches and yards and fantasy points in two games than the entire past 10 weeks. Tom Brady is trusting this guy and so as fantasy owners as he has been started 20% more on Week 12. Expect to see him being involved more starting Week 13.

James White – This is still RB LeGarrette Blount turf, but we saw Tom Brady used James White to get team off-guard, if in case the receivers do not fill the void of Rob Gronkowski as expected, Tom Brady might opt to run the ball more, expect James White to more points and opportunities.

Rob Gronkowski is a big loss but as Tom Brady quotesWe still have a job to do and we’re going to try to do it as well as we possibly can., New England has the experience and players to make adjustments and make a run for the Super Bowl.

Tom Brady ‘big void’ on loss of Rob Gronkowski

in NFL

Rob Gronkowski is going to undergo back surgery which means starting Week 13 and for the rest of the NFL 2016 season he won’t be able to play.

This is bad news for the team as well as fantasy owners because Rob Gronkowski is one of the best if not the best tight end in the NFL right now.

Tom Brady share this sentiments during his interview with Jim Gray on the Westwood One Radio, he says that Rob is “a big void left by such a spectacular player.”

Tom Brady goes on telling that —

“Nobody wants Gronk not out there. Everybody wants Gronk out there every play of every game. But that’s not our reality. “We still have a job to do and we’re going to try to do it as well as we possibly can.

Tom Brady echoes that Rob is one of the best players in the game and is one of the most dependable. I agree on this as I have chosen Gronk in the 2nd round of our Fantasy Football and he can assure you lots of points when he is healthy, as Brady says —

“It doesn’t help losing great players, and to not have Gronk out there — one of our best players and one of our most dependable, consistent players — makes things challenging for us. But that’s what the NFL season is about. It’s about overcoming challenges, adversities. We have a lot of good players on our team that are going to need to step in and fill the void. And that’s a big void left by such a spectacular player in Gronk.”

It is still possible for Rob Gronkowski to return but that would be on the week of the Super Bowl should New England Patriots get there. They sure need him to get them there but right now thye would just have to deal with the challenge — So we understand the challenge is ahead. It becomes more challenging when you lose such a great player in Gronk, but I don’t think any of us are going to give up on what we’re trying to accomplish. We’ve played games without him this season, and we’re going to need to reach a higher level as individuals so that we can reach a higher level as a team.

Tom Brady understands that this is also hard on Rob —

Everyone is thinking about him and what he’s gone through. It’s such a physical sport. It’s hard to see people that you care about go through injuries. He’s gone through his fair share. I also know the resolve he has and that will never change with him. He’ll be as determined as ever to get back and get better as soon as possible.

Brady continues — Our thoughts are with him and what he’s gone through. He’s such a mentally tough person. He’s physically tough. He has a great energy and spirit about him, so we’re all wishing him the very best, and we hope he gets better as soon as possible.

Brady still feels optimistic —

I’m feeling so much better today. I’m excited about this weekend, going out there and playing against a great Rams defense. It’s going to be a good challenge for us and I’ll be feeling a lot better than I was feeling last week. That’s part of (the) football season, too, is dealing with the bumps and bruises and fighting through whatever adversity you face over the course of the week. A lot of guys are banged up at this time of year, a lot of guys aren’t feeling 100 percent, but you still have to go out there and find a way to perform at a high level. Nobody is making excuses and certainly nobody feels sorry for the Patriots. We still have to go out there and try to do our best and play a great game.

Even Belichick chimes in — Obviously, we’re all disappointed. Nobody’s worked harder than Rob and has been a better teammate and all that, so hopefully things will work out as positively as possible with him.

I understand what the team is going through and I understand it will hurt more in real life for New England Patrios because losing him as my starter Tight End in the Fantasy Football is already huge that I have to fill-up and considering there are a lot of TEs I can get from waiver wire it is still not the same.

For now let us hope that New England gets past this challenge and maybe see Rob Gronkowski during the Super Bowl.

Tom Brady is doubtful to play in Sunday’s game vs the Jets as he is nursing a knee injury. He however practiced on Friday for just a few hours as Bill Belichick explained to the reporters the condition of his star quarterback.

Belichick notes: “We’ll list Tom [Brady] on the injury report like we always do, like everybody else. “Is that the answer you were hoping for? … OK, good. I don’t want to disappoint you.”

For Fantasy owners this is not good news as we are nearing the playoffs and teams have drafted Brady on his strong performance the past few weeks.

Tom Brady Extends Contract until 2019 as New England Patriots QB

in NFL

Tom Brady is set to complete 20 years with the New England Patriots as a verbal agreement has been reached for him to sign a 2-year contract extension with the team. He is under contract until 2017, with the extension he will remain a Patriot throughout the 2019 season at the age of 42.

Tom will be receiving less than the $9 & $10 million dollar contract in 2016 and 2017 respectively as the team cap space after that is $13 million dollars and a few players are expected to be re-signed — linebackers Jamie Collins, Dont’a Hightower, defensive end Chandler Jones and cornerback Malcolm Butler.

Tom Brady will eventually join Jason Hansen, Darrell Green and Matthew Slater as the only players in NFL history to spend 20 years in a single team.

It is going to be hard to imagine Brady in another uniform nor the New England Patriots without Brady.

The extension would give them 3 more years to develop 2014 second-round draft pick Jimmy Garoppolo.
